As Aging Life Care™ Managers, we developed Home Care Match LLC because we saw a profound need for services outside the box of standard home care agencies. We wanted to provide caregivers like those we would want for our own parents. (And for ourselves when the time comes!) We were convinced we could create a context where clients feel more in control of their lives. Where they are supported to be more than their health challenges. Where they get to define what “quality of life” means to them and to have caregivers dedicated to manifesting that vision every day.
To do this, we knew we needed to treat caregivers as respected individuals who are acknowledged for their unique skills and personalities. Standard home care treats caregivers as cogs in a machine: One is much like the other, interchangeable. Instead, we envisioned a service where the caregiver was given a livable wage and in turn was encouraged to invest in the well-being of the client, to develop a long-term relationship by using their insight, creativity, and knowledge to provide a genuine and skillful human-to-human interaction.
To this end, we set up Home Care Match LLC as an employment agency. Beyond an initial placement fee, the money you pay goes directly to the caregiver. We do not take money from the caregiver’s wages. We help you find a good match by interviewing you and your loved one and then suggesting candidates for you to interview from a select group of well-educated, carefully vetted caregivers. This model is extremely successful. Since 2012, we have been the go-to agency for families and professionals who want a dignified, authentic home care experience focused on top-notch care and quality of life for the client.
